We've finally got the dates pinned down & and the cat's all but escaped from the bag, so here goes .... Anyone who was ever involved with OAS is invited to attend, along with spouses, significant others, and kids. We all remember what a great place Oslo was for kids -- after all, that's what we were when we were there -- so let another generation experience it, too! This won't be like your typical high school reunion where everyone boozes it up for an evening and goes home. There will be excursions via bus & trykk to Frogner Park, the museums, Holmenkollen. Hopefully the current occupants of our school will allow us to return for an afternoon (if not, they'll have to put up with us dropping in day after day for a week or two!). Smaller groups who used to live near one another and play together can set out in search of their old neighborhoods. There should be plenty of time for people to seek out old friends, neighbors, hangouts, or whatever. For the benefit of people who can't stay long, a "core" program will be targeted for July 26-28 (Fri-Sun): Fri. July 26, day for 3rd most important activities Sat. July 27, day for the most important activities (reception/picnic at the old school, if they'll let us? tether ball contest?) Sun. July 28, day for 2nd most important activities One item that definitely will be on the agenda for Saturday, July 27, will be a vote to restore the Viking to his rightful place as the OAS mascot. Those of us who left in the 50's & early 60's are a bit miffed to hear how our poor Viking was treated after we thought we'd left him in such kind and caring hands! Minneapolis, MN 55407 If you have any copies of OAS student/staff directories or yearbooks, please make copies for me! I have also filed an electronic FOIA request for OAS directories. I hope to have a database of a known OAS'ers constructed within a week. We can currently reach approximately 100 OAS'ers on Chris Baer's web page via email, and I would guess that those 100 OAS'ers know the whereabouts of several hundred siblings and friends. Beyond that, we have to do it the old fashioned way -- remember 'em & find 'em! Any assistance will be appreciated.
